Personal project that I've been working on over the past few weeks in my free time. I really enjoyed working on this one. A friend of mine did a quick rig for me and I did some simple skinning just so I can pose him. Everything was sculpted in ZBrush. Uvs and topology were also done using ZBrush ZRemesher. This time I did all of the textures with MARI. It was my first time using this software and I loved it! Final image was rendered with Vray and 3dsmax! Hope you like it and thanks for viewing!
STAR - Special Tactics and Rescue unit was formed as a response to ever growing need to end the conflict before it expands to a bigger region.
This unit has 13 members each trained in a different style of martial arts. They hold an intensive and rigorous selection process. Each new member has to undergo full body screening to evaluate both mental and physical strength. Those that make through undergo a final medical examination and are put through intensive training in both martial arts and military tactics. Each member is trained in fighting style that is best suited for them and is given a wide choice of weapons to pick from. Aside from the standard fire arms they all get to pick a melee weapon. They can choose from bladed to blunt weapons that include swords, staff and daggers. STAR Units are fitted with a custom armor that is built to enhance their predisposed abilities.
Daiichi (??; - first, number one) is the leader in this unit. He excels in the art of sword and his hand to hand combat skills are hard to match. Combination of power and speed that is enhanced by his suit gives him a perfect balance and makes him a tough opponent to beat.

This is my latest work "Luciano". He is a wealthy, well educated, dedicated father and husband in his mid 50s. I got inspired with classical paintings this time (Hans Holbein a Northern Renaissance artist). I was browsing through his work for days and I just felt the urge to make this artwork.
I learned a lot during the making of this portrait. I did all of the modeling inside ZBrush and with the arrival of the latest version things got a lot easier. I had more time to experiment and play with dynamesh and not to worry about topology. I just loved it! QRemesher and the new topology tools really rock! All of the textures were hand painted with ZBrush as well. Fur and Hair was done with Fibermesh and then rendered out with hair and fur.
Rendering was done with 3DSmax and Vray.
